Coordinates and optimizes the movement of mining equipment, resources, and personnel to maximize productivity and efficiency. Oversees dispatch systems, monitors production targets, and promotes the safe and timely execution of mining activities.
Coordinates and prioritizes equipment deployment, haulage schedules, ore processing, and other mining activities to meet production targets and operational requirements.
Monitors real-time dispatch and mine planning data to track equipment location, availability, and utilization.
Optimizes truck and equipment allocation, routing, and sequencing to minimize downtime and idle time and improve productivity.
Collaborates with mine planners, geologists, and production supervisors to develop short-term and long-term production plans and schedules.
Communicates instructions, updates, and feedback on production targets and schedules to equipment operators, truck drivers, and other personnel.
Analyzes production data and performance metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
Conducts regular inspections of mining equipment and machinery to verify proper functioning and compliance with safety regulations.
Troubleshoots operational issues and coordinates with maintenance teams to address breakdowns and maintenance requirements promptly.
Implements safety protocols and procedures to maintain safe working conditions and regulatory compliance.
Provides training and support to dispatch operators and personnel on dispatch systems, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
Mining equipment, resources, and personnel are dispatched in line with production targets and operational priorities.
Equipment allocation, routing, and sequencing reduce downtime and idle time and improve equipment utilization.
Dispatch and production data is monitored and analyzed to identify operational inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Equipment issues and maintenance requirements are identified and coordinated promptly.
Dispatch activities and personnel comply with applicable safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
Additional certification or training in mine dispatch systems is advantageous.
5 to 8 years of experience in mining operations, preferably in a dispatch or production planning role.
Proficiency in mine dispatch systems, fleet management software, and mine planning software, such as Modular Mining DISPATCH, Wenco, or Minemax.
Strong understanding of mining operations, equipment capabilities, and production processes.
Knowledge of surface and underground mining methods.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, including interpreting data and production metrics and making data-driven decisions.
Communication and interpersonal skills, including cross-functional collaboration and communication with personnel at all levels.
