Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or social work or a bachelor’s in a subject with a postgraduate diploma in counselling.
• Experience providing student guidance and counseling in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents and administrators.

Responsibilities

• Assist education leadership to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.
• Evaluate students’ abilities and interests via assessments, interviews, and inputs from stakeholders.
• Identify issues affecting performance and attendance and address them through guidance.
• Counsel individuals and groups to support academic and social development.
• Help students develop organizational and study skills and plan career goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to support student success.
• Teach topics such as bullying and substance abuse and maintain records.
