Job summary

Qualifications

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer to drive software quality initiatives for cloud-native SaaS applications. This role will be responsible for defining testing strategies, building scalable automation frameworks, leading quality engineering efforts, and collaborating closely with product and development teams throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is passionate about quality, automation, continuous improvement, and mentoring others while ensuring the delivery of high-performing, reliable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and DevOps teams to design, automate, and execute comprehensive testing strategies aligned with business requirements and user scenarios.
• Engage early in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to establish test frameworks, environments, and infrastructure that support continuous testing and early defect detection.
• Lead QA efforts for cloud-based SaaS solutions, ensuring quality delivery within Agile and Continuous Delivery environments.
• Evaluate and continuously improve existing test plans, test cases, and automation suites to maximize coverage and minimize risk.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks, tools, and scripts that improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Implement and execute automated acceptance, functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and performance tests.
• Champion quality engineering best practices across development teams and promote a quality-first mindset.
• Mentor and coach junior QA engineers, providing technical guidance on automation, testing methodologies, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify quality risks and proactively address potential issues before production deployment.
• Stay current with emerging QA tools, technologies, trends, and automation practices, recommending and implementing improvements where appropriate.

Required Qualifications & ExperienceTechnical Expertise

• Proven experience driving software quality, test automation, and continuous delivery initiatives for cloud-hosted SaaS applications.
• Deep understanding of microservices architectures, distributed systems, REST APIs, and service-oriented environments.
• Strong experience leading both front-end and back-end automation testing initiatives.
• Expertise in designing and implementing automation frameworks using tools such as:
• JUnit/TestNG
• JMeter
• Jenkins
• Postman
• SoapUI
• Strong knowledge of API testing, including JSON, XML, REST, and web services validation.
• Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages, including:

• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD ecosystems, including Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.

• Hands-on experience with performance, scalability, and load testing of enterprise cloud applications.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and web protocols, including HTTP/HTTPS.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration technologies is highly desirable.

Quality Engineering Competencies

• Extensive experience executing and managing Functional, Integration, System, Regression, End-to-End, Performance, and Non-Functional testing.
• Demonstrated ability to define and execute testing strategies tailored to business and technical requirements.
• Expertise with defect tracking and test management tools, including Jira, TestRail, and Zephyr.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and risk assessment skills, with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate quality issues.
• Passion for software quality, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Education & Professional Background

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required.
• 4-6+ years of experience in software engineering, quality assurance, test automation, or a related discipline within cloud-based SaaS environments.
• 4-6+ years of hands-on experience in automation testing, API testing, system testing, performance testing, and quality engineering.
• Demonstrated success leading end-to-end testing efforts from project inception through production deployment.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams and collaborating effectively across multiple time zones.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Self-motivated professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver results in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and technical teams.
