Job summary

Alfanar Projects in Saudi Arabia seeks a Senior Project Engineer - Electrical to lead electrical engineering for 380kV substation projects from engineering through commissioning. You will coordinate with SEC, consultants, designers and vendors and ensure designs meet approved drawings, specs, quality and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical substation projects.
• Strong experience in 380kV substation projects, preferably with SEC.
• Extensive experience with 380kV GIS, transformers, reactors, HV/MV switchgear and protection/control systems.
• Solid knowledge of substation engineering, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Experience coordinating engineering design, material/equipment and project execution.
• Experience coordinating with SEC, consultants, vendors, designers and subcontractors.
• Understanding of SEC standards, specifications and approval processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities for 380kV substation projects from engineering through construction and commissioning.
• Review scope, drawings, tender documents and technical requirements for compliance.
• Coordinate with SEC, consultants, designers, vendors, subcontractors and internal teams on electrical matters.
• Review primary electrical drawings including SLDs, layouts, grounding and lightning protection.
• Review technical submittals, equipment specs, material approvals and vendor drawings.
• Coordinate installation, testing and commissioning of major substation equipment including GIS, transformers, reactors and switchgear.
• Ensure compliance with SEC standards, drawings, specs, quality and HSE procedures.
• Support testing, energization and final handover activities.
• Prepare and submit as-built drawings, turnover documents, test reports and closeout documentation.

The candidate will be responsible for coordinating electrical engineering activities, reviewing designs and technical documents, coordinating with the client/SEC, consultants, designers, vendors and site teams, and ensuring that project requirements are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project schedules.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in 380kV GIS substations, with good knowledge of primary electrical systems, substation equipment, SEC requirements and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities for 380kV substation projects from engineering through construction and commissioning.
• Review project scope, specifications, drawings, tender documents and technical requirements to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with SEC, consultants, designers, vendors, subcontractors and internal project teams on electrical engineering and technical matters.
• Review and coordinate primary electrical drawings, including SLDs, layouts, equipment arrangements, grounding, lightning protection and related engineering documents.
• Review technical submittals, equipment specifications, material approvals and vendor drawings.
• Coordinate installation, testing and commissioning activities for major substation equipment, including 380kV GIS, power transformers, reactors, HV/MV switchgear, protection and control systems.
• Ensure engineering and execution activities comply with SEC standards, approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements and HSE procedures.
