Job summary

Coastal Contracting Company, a subsidiary of Red Sea Global, seeks a Specialist - Welder to lead workshop activities, allocate tasks, and ensure safe, high-quality welding and fabrication. The role emphasizes welding team leadership, stock control, and collaboration with engineering for process improvements.

You will perform structural repairs, operate CNC machinery, and support documentation and health, safety, and environmental standards across projects.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Boiler making Plating / Welding Trade certificate.
  • +5 years Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator, preferably within construction, heavy plant, equipment rental, transport or industrial workshops.
  • Previous experience supervising or leading workshop personnel.
  • Strong practical welding and fabrication skills.
  • Ability to carry out structural repairs and modifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in ERP.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and supervise daily welding and fabrication workshop activities.
  • Lead and manage welding personnel including task allocation and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure all welding is carried out according to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and maintain stock of welding consumables and steel materials.
  • Coordinate ordering of materials to prevent shortages.
  • Inspect welding work for quality assurance and compliance.
  • Identify structural damage and recommend appropriate repair methods.
  • Train welding team on welding techniques and machinery including CNC machines.
  • Support documentation, reporting, and coordination between workshop and office.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve fabrication and welding processes.
  • Have practical knowledge of industrial painting and surface preparation.
  • Cover for Supervisors of other teams as required.
  • Other duties as required by management.

Job Description

The Specialist - Welder will lead workshop personnel, allocate work, monitor quality and ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.The role involves managing welding team, maintaining material availability, and supporting both operational and administrative functions.

This isa hands on role and the position requires a strong welding and fabrication background, together with practical knowledge of painting, mechanical repairs and general plant maintenance.
