Job summary

Vanderlande seeks a Site Mechanical Supervisor to lead the installation of mechanical and electromechanical equipment for material handling projects in Saudi Arabia. You will guide the onsite team, uphold Vanderlande safety and quality standards, and ensure installations progress toward the project schedule.

Responsibilities include supervising installation, coordinating with subcontractors, and mentoring technicians to drive continuous improvement under the Everyday Better program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience leading site installation teams for MHS.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems, components, and mechanical equipment used in material handling.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, layouts and schedules.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Navis and problem solving during installation is advantageous.

Job Description About Role

As a mechanical supervisor at Vanderlande, your role centers on smoothly installing mechanical equipment for material handling projects. You will lead, guide, and inspire your team, fostering a culture of safety and quality throughout the project. Responsibilities List of responsibilities

• Supervision: Organize and supervise the installation of mechanical and electromechanical equipment for Vanderlande material handling projects in line with the project schedule.
• Guidance: Provide clear instructions to the onsite installation team, ensuring that all installation work complies with quality standards and strictly adheres to Vanderlande processes.
• Safety Focus: Foster a culture of safety among installations team throughout the project execution.
• Surveying: Conduct surveys for installation areas, check readiness & facilities required for installation. Support for the site handover.
• Quality Control: Maintain a strong onsite presence through regular site walks and a thorough auditing schedule, with a focus on safety and quality control in alignment with Vanderlande standards.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Contribute to creating the project installation schedule and adhere to it to meet project timelines. Monitor the team's progress, identify opportunities for improvement, and support continuous enhancement efforts. Regularly report on work progress to the Site Manager, ensuring effective coordination with subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Assume responsibility for training new technicians to enhance their skills, fostering ongoing team improvement, and promoting the core value of "Everyday Better" through lessons learned.
• Support: Organize and facilitate all support activities to ensure a smooth commissioning and testing process until handover to the customer.

Desired Experience

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in executing material handling projects/ leading Site installation teams for MHS.
• In-depth knowledge of conveyor systems, their components, and mechanical equipment commonly used in material handling.
• Ability to comprehend engineering drawings, specifications, layouts, and effectively interpret project and planning schedules.
• Experienced in proficiently troubleshooting and problem-solving to address any technical challenges during installation.
• Experience in maintaining quality control during installation, ensuring systems operate efficiently and reliably.
• The ability to conduct precise surveys of installation areas, assess readiness, and ensure accurate alignment and installation of conveyor systems based on survey data.
• Hand on experience with AutoCAD, Navis and would be advantageous.
