Job summary

Vanderlande Industries GmbH in Jeddah, KSA, is seeking a Site Engineer – Electrical to lead electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance on regional projects. You will guide subcontractors, analyze drawings and specifications, and develop electrical design documents for parts and assemblies.

The role requires a Bachelor’s/Master’s in electrical engineering, 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, hands-on knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT and ePlan, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design & installation practices in the Industrial automation domain, specifically in Baggage Handling or Material Handling Systems.
• Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, REVIT, and ePlan.
• Hands-on PLC knowledge is an advantage.
• Ability to read, understand, and evaluate electrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design and installation practices.
• Effective interpersonal skills, ability to engage internal & external stakeholders, and good to have worked in multiple cultural areas.
• Be willing to work on projects outside of KSA.
• Fluent in English, Arabic, or other languages would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support the site manager regarding electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance of equipment across various projects in the region.
• Guide and educate sub-contractors with installation best practices.
• Coordinate with the construction and Procurement departments to identify the tools and consumables required for the site execution.
• Analyze the specification and design drawings and other materials needed for the electrical installation as per the approved material submittals.
• Research, design, develop, and test electrical industrial control systems; create electrical design documents for parts, assemblies, and products.
• Be a technical project leader by taking full ownership of deliverables.
• Manage and ensure that all project quality procedures applicable to design are being followed, this enables all aspects of the project to be achieved towards meeting design needs and ultimate customer satisfaction.
• Develop knowledge of engineering-based CAD software to complete drawings.
• Preparation of work packages for the site installation teams.
• Monitoring and reporting of site progress.
• Supporting the quality team with inspections, closing out snag points and eventual handover to the client.
