Job summary

Helmerich & Payne, Inc. is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to support the Middle East region. You will collaborate with regional managers, drafts, field inspectors, and other groups to deliver complex drilling rig design projects and large-scale program management.

You will mentor engineers, lead high-level projects autonomously, and travel to field locations for upgrades and inspections. Strong collaboration across engineering and operations is essential in this role.

Qualifications

BS in Civil/Structural Eng or equivalent required.
Saudi Council of Engineering license and 8+ years design experience.
Experience with drilling rig design.
Knowledge of API specs, AISC design practices, fabrication and hydraulic systems.
Ability to lead projects and be a self-starter.
Proficient with MS Office Suite and CAD software.

Responsibilities

Coordinate construction projects with local fabricators and H&P Houston facility.
Design new structures and analyze current builds for modification projects.
Develop and maintain relationships with fabrication facilities.
Create and distribute Certificate of Compliance documents for various designs.
Work with International Marketing on proposals, budgets and schedules.
Formalize technical reports from design analysis.
Review coworker design packages.
Author standardized technical letters for rig functions and equipment design.
Provide technical support for operations on structural repairs and inspections.
Mentor junior engineers and advise cross-functionally.
Conduct in-field audits and reviews of existing equipment.
Travel to the field and rigs to support upgrades and inspections.
Overnight stays in the field occasionally.
