As a Senior Project Manager at Hitachi Ltd you will lead and manage complex large-scale projects from initiation to closure ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget and timeline. You will be responsible for overseeing all project phases, coordinating cross-functional teams and communicating effectively with stakeholders to achieve strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for multiple concurrent projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closing
• Define project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed tasks, timelines, resource allocation and budget estimates
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans as needed
• Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring financial objectives are met
• Motivate and manage high-performing project teams, providing guidance, support and performance feedback
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members, stakeholders and external vendors
• Prepare and present regular project status reports, dashboards and presentations to senior leadership and clients
• Ensure projects adhere to Hitachi's quality standards, methodologies and best practices
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within project management
• Manage stakeholder expectations and foster strong client relationships
• Oversee the procurement and management of third-party vendors and contractors when necessary
• Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to drive continuous improvement

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification (e.g., PRINCE2) is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a senior project management role, preferably within a large, multinational technology or engineering company.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of various project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
• Expertise in risk management, change management, and stakeholder management.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana) and collaboration tools.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Experience with global teams and cross‑cultural communication is highly desirable.
• Fluency in English is required.
