Job summary

Mace is seeking an Associate Director – MEP to join a major international sports complex development in Saudi Arabia. You will lead MEP design management, technical assurance, and ensure fully coordinated solutions from concept through delivery.

You will provide governance across disciplines, chair design reviews, drive value engineering, energy efficiency, and support procurement, with mentoring for MEP engineers and design managers on a high-profile programme.

Qualifications

• Senior MEP design management or engineering leadership on large, complex developments.
• Experience in Engineer/Consultant/Design Authority roles.
• Experience on sports, stadiums, arenas, or complex public assembly projects.
• Capable across the full lifecycle from design to handover.
• Excellent understanding of international MEP design standards and regulations.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in the Middle East and fast-paced programmes is advantageous.
• Visa criteria for Saudi Arabia and relevant work experience for immigration and client approval.

Responsibilities

• Lead MEP engineering and design management across the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership for MEP disciplines and governance.
• Review and approve MEP submissions, calculations, specs, and reports.
• Oversee interface management between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Chair technical workshops, design reviews, and coordination meetings.
• Support value engineering and whole-life performance optimization of MEP systems.
• Provide guidance on energy efficiency, sustainability, and resilience for a large sports venue.
• Mentor MEP engineers and design managers.
• Support procurement and tender activities including technical evaluations.
• Monitor construction-stage activities including QA, inspections, testing, commissioning, handover.
• Ensure robust technical risk management, change control, and QA throughout delivery.
