Job summary

Hudson Manpower is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer - Mechanical to lead schedules for oil, gas, refinery, and petrochemical EPC projects in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on planning, progress tracking, and reporting across site execution and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have extensive mechanical construction/maintenance planning, shutdown/turnaround experience, and proficiency in Primavera P6. Prior GCC exposure and strong English communication are highly valued.

Qualifications

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as a Planning Engineer in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery/EPC projects.
Strong experience in Mechanical Construction / Maintenance projects.
Shutdown & Turnaround planning experience is highly preferred.
Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification.
Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting.
Experience with Primavera P6 is required/preferred.
Saudi Arabia / GCC experience is a plus.
Good English communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for mechanical construction, maintenance, shutdown, and turnaround activities.
Prepare baseline, look-ahead, recovery schedules, and progress updates.
Monitor progress and identify delays, critical activities, and risks.
Coordinate with Site Execution, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and HSE teams.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and planning dashboards.
Track manpower, equipment, materials, productivity, and resource requirements.
Analyze performance and provide schedule recovery recommendations.
Monitor critical path activities and ensure timely milestones.
Prepare progress measurement and quantity tracking for mechanical activities.
Support preparation of S-curves, progress curves, histograms, and productivity reports.
Coordinate with subcontractors and monitor their progress against schedules.
Identify schedule risks, delays, and extension-of-time impacts.
Participate in progress meetings with management and clients.
Ensure planning and reporting align with project requirements and client standards.
