Overview
Job Purpose The Senior Manager Logistics Systems & Technology is responsible for leading the strategy, design, implementation, integration and continuous optimization of logistics systems across the supply chain and logistics network. This role oversees logistics digital transformation initiatives including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Freight Management Systems (FMS), Asset Management Systems (AMS), RFID, RPA and any related systems and automation technologies. The Senior Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the company’s Logistics Systems & Technology ensuring real-time visibility, efficiency and optimization across all logistics functions. This includes overseeing the performance and development of the Logistics Systems team and ensuring seamless coordination across warehousing, transportation and international freight. The role is critical to continuously optimizing the company’s logistics operations, aligning with strategic goals and delivering cost‑effective solutions that enhance customer satisfaction. The role acts as the primary owner of logistics systems architecture, vendor strategy, and solution roadmap, ensuring seamless integration with SAP and other enterprise platforms while enabling scalable, efficient and data‑driven logistics operations. The Senior Manager works closely with Supply Chain Operations, Corporate Procurement, IT, SAP teams and external vendors to deliver robust, future‑ready logistics solutions aligned with business objectives.
Strategic Contribution
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the logistics systems strategy and roadmap aligned with the organization’s supply chain, logistics and digital transformation objectives.
- Lead enterprise‑wide logistics systems initiatives including WMS, TMS, FMS, AMS, RFID, RPA and logistics automation solutions.
- Establish technology standards, system architecture and integration principles for logistics platforms.
- Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on logistics systems capabilities, risks, investments and transformation opportunities.
- Lead, mentor and develop Logistics Systems & Technology team members, setting clear objectives and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Proactively identify logistics systems and operational risks, define mitigation strategies and act as the escalation point for critical system or operational issues impacting supply chain continuity.
- Ensure that logistics systems operations support high levels of customer satisfaction with an emphasis on on‑time delivery, quality and responsiveness to customer needs.
Operational Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting of RFPs, RFIs and technical specifications for logistics systems and automation technologies.
- Manage vendor evaluations, technical assessments and solution selection in collaboration with Corporate Procurement.
- Oversee vendor performance SLAs, contracts and ongoing system support arrangements.
- Lead day‑to‑day Logistics Systems & Technology operations supporting warehousing, transportation and international freight activities, ensuring system stability, performance and minimal operational disruption.
Implementation & Integration
- Lead end‑to‑end implementation of logistics systems including WMS, TMS, FMS, AMS, RFID and RPA solutions across warehouses, distribution centers and transport networks.
- Ensure seamless integration of logistics systems with SAP MM, SD, FI, data platforms and third‑party solutions.
- Oversee system testing, UAT, go‑live, hyper‑care and stabilization activities.
- Ensure logistics systems provide end‑to‑end real‑time visibility across warehousing, transportation and international freight operations.
Business & Technical Requirements Management
- Lead the definition and governance of logistics systems business, functional and technical requirements.
- Translate logistics operational needs into scalable system solutions and architectures.
- Ensure solutions support standardization, automation, scalability and operational excellence.
Logistics Asset & Infrastructure Enablement
- Support logistics asset infrastructure enablement including automation equipment, scanners, RFID hardware, IoT devices and network connectivity.
- Ensure alignment between physical logistics assets and system capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10 years of experience in logistics systems, supply chain management or digital transformation roles with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Proven experience managing internal and external teams and coordinating across different supply chain functions (e.g., IT, system, warehousing, transportation, sourcing, purchasing).
- Proven leadership experience in implementing large‑scale logistics systems (WMS, TMS, FMS, AMS).
- Strong experience with SAP integration within logistics environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading RFPs, vendor selection and contract negotiations.
- Experience managing multi‑vendor, multi‑site logistics systems implementations.
- APICS CPIM, CSCP or other relevant certifications desirable; Six Sigma or Lean certifications preferred.
