Job summary

Qiddiya is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the development and implementation of design guidelines across large-scale development projects in alignment with the master plan.

The role focuses on coordinating with the Design Director, managing design strategies, and advising leadership on consultant selection, contracts, and governance frameworks to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in design management, architecture, urban planning, master planning, or large-scale mixed-use development projects.
• Strong knowledge of master planning, urban design guidelines, design governance frameworks, and design QA processes.
• Excellent consultant management and negotiation capabilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and ensure implementation of design guidelines for all development projects in coordination with the Design Director.
• Ensure development and successful implementation of design plan to achieve design goals for all assigned projects.
• Advise leadership on suitable design consultant candidates through outreach, RFP development, contract execution and administration.
• Support design teams in development of design strategies for efficient project completion.
• Support design, development and construction teams regarding schedules, budgets and plans.
• Coordinate internal design reviews to align with the master plan and take corrective actions when needed.
• Review design deliverables and provide recommendations to ensure quality standards and objectives are met.
• Coordinate between multiple consultants from pre-concept through execution to align with Qiddiya master plan.

Job description

Provide support to development project teams with design related activities including but not limited to development of design strategies, schedules, design guidelines, etc. to ensure adherence to the overall master plan.

Role and Responsibilities:

Develop and ensure implementation of design guidelines for all development projects in coordination with the Design Director.

Ensure development and successful implementation of design plan in order to ensure successful achievement of design goals for all assigned projects.

Advise leadership team on the most suitable design consultant candidates through initial outreach, RFP development, contract execution and contract administration in coordination with the Design Director.

Provide support to development project teams in the development of design strategies in order to ensure efficient completion of project as and when needed.

Provide support to the design, development and construction teams regarding the development schedules, budgets and plans.

Ensure periodic internal design reviews in order to ensure alignment with overall plan and take corrective actions when needed.

Review design related deliverables and provide recommendations as and when needed in order to ensure compliance with quality standards and achievement of strategic objectives.

Ensure coordination between multiple consultants from pre-concept through execution to ensure alignment to Qiddiya’s master plan.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field. Master’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field preferred.

7 years of experience in design management, architecture, urban planning, master planning, or large-scale mixed-use development projects.

Knowledge of master planning, urban design guidelines, design governance frameworks, and design quality assurance processes.

Excellent consultant management and negotiation capabilities.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
