Job summary

Qiddiya Investment Company seeks a Senior Legal Counsel specializing in complex commercial, construction, procurement, and infrastructure contracts in Riyadh. You will draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts across the project lifecycle, while advising senior leadership on risk and strategic legal matters.

You will lead a contracting team, develop templates, ensure regulatory compliance with Saudi laws, and collaborate with Procurement, Development, and Finance to support key initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law; master's degree preferred.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial, construction, procurement and infrastructure contracts.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders on contractual risk and strategic legal matters.

Job description

• Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial, construction, procurement, infrastructure, transportation, consultancy, and service contracts.
• Provide strategic and practical legal advice to senior leadership and internal stakeholders on contractual obligations, commercial risks, claims, and major project matters.
• Support projects throughout the contracting lifecycle, from procurement and contract development through execution, administration, and closeout.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risks, including variations, performance issues, claims, and potential disputes.
• Ensure contracts comply with applicable Saudi laws, internal policies, governance requirements, and delegation of authority.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Development, Finance, and other business functions to provide timely legal support for key projects and transactions.
• Manage external legal counsel and ensure the quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of legal services.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, legal guidance, processes, and contracting best practices.
• Lead, mentor, and develop members of the Legal Contracting team while promoting knowledge transfer and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in law, master's is preferred.
• Significant experience within a leading law firm, major organization, government-related entity, or large-scale development environment.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial, construction, procurement, and infrastructure contracts.
• Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders on contractual risk, commercial negotiations, and strategic legal matters.
• Strong knowledge of contracting principles, procurement practices, corporate governance, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
