Job summary

Dar Al Riyadh Group is seeking a Senior Landscape Architectural Engineer for the Technical Office in Riyadh. You will lead the technical-office review of golf-course shaping, landscape, agronomy, and interior-fit-out packages, ensuring alignment with the master layout.

Responsibilities include evaluating grading plans, soils, turf establishment, and landscape planting under Riyadh climate, and coordinating interfaces with civil, irrigation, and MEP disciplines. Fluent English is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Architectural Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in landscape architecture and design management.
• Demonstrated experience on major landscape, resort, hospitality or master-development projects.
• Extensive technical experience with golf-course design and construction per USGA guidance.
• Strong English communication and reporting skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical-office review and coordination of golf-course shaping, landscape, agronomy, architectural and interior-fit-out packages.
• Review golf grading plans, digital terrain and contour models, fairway profiles, greens, tees, bunker geometry, cart paths and landscape levels against the approved master golf layout.
• Evaluate rootzone profiles, drainage layers, gravel blankets, bunker sands and other specialist golf-construction materials against applicable USGA recommendations and project specifications.
• Review soil-physics and agronomy laboratory reports, including particle-size distribution, infiltration, permeability, porosity, organic content, salinity and compatibility results.
• Review landscape planting plans, schedules, details and specifications for suitability under Riyadh’s climate, water availability and maintenance conditions.
• Evaluate nursery submissions, plant samples, certified turfgrass varieties, soil conditioners, fertilizers, mulches and desert-adapted planting materials.
• Verify the suitability of Paspalum, Bermuda and other proposed turf varieties for the intended playing surfaces, irrigation-water quality and environmental conditions.
• Review and recommend approval of clubhouse and support-building architectural shop drawings, interior fit-out packages, façade systems, finishes, doors, ceilings and related material submittals.
• Coordinate architectural and landscape interfaces with civil grading, irrigation, drainage, lake structures, retaining elements, utilities, lighting and MEP systems.
• Provide technically justified responses to contractor RFIs concerning grading, landscape-to-civil interfaces, cart-path geometry, lake edges, architectural details and material substitutions.
• Review contractor method statements for earth shaping, rootzone placement, turf establishment, grow-in, bunker construction and lining, planting and specialist architectural finishes.
• Assess contractor design alternatives, value-engineering proposals, mock-ups and samples for compliance with the approved design intent and performance requirements.
• Monitor technical submissions, review cycles, resubmissions and outstanding decisions and identify issues that may affect construction progress or quality.
• Review redline markups, as-built drawings, landscape records, planting schedules, material warranties and architectural closeout documentation before final acceptance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Architectural Engineering or another closely related discipline from an accredited university.
• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, architectural technical-office engineering and design management.
• Demonstrated experience on major landscape, resort, hospitality, leisure or master-development projects.
• Extensive technical experience involving championship or international-standard golf-course design and construction.
• Strong knowledge of golf-course shaping, grading, drainage, greens construction, bunker profiles and turfgrass establishment.
• Practical understanding of applicable USGA recommendations for greens, rootzones, drainage aggregates and specialist golf materials.
• Experience reviewing architectural shop drawings, interior fit-out packages, façade submissions and high-quality finishes.
• Strong experience evaluating laboratory reports, material submissions, mock-ups, samples and contractor method statements.
• Ability to coordinate landscape and architectural designs with civil, structural, irrigation, electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Land F/X, Adobe Photoshop and BIM/Revit workflows.
• Strong technical reporting, design-review, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
