Job summary

Penspen is seeking a Senior Instruments & Control Engineer to oversee instrumentation and control deliverables for major Oil & Gas projects in Al Khobar, KSA. The role requires extensive offshore and onshore experience and strict adherence to ISA/IEC standards.

The candidate will review datasheets, I/O lists, and control narratives, ensure proper integration of DCS/ESD/Fire & Gas, and support commissioning while upholding HSE guidelines. Saudi work authorization is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Twelve years of experience in instrumentation & control engineering for major Oil & Gas/Petrochemical projects.
• Six years in instrumentation & control for major projects; DCS experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee instrumentation and control deliverables by the EPC contractor and ensure compliance with project requirements and international standards (ISA, IEC).
• Review instrument datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and control narratives.
• Validate integration between control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) and field instruments.
• Evaluate vendor submittals, FAT procedures, and technical deviations.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure operability and maintainability of control systems.
• Support field verification, loop checks, and commissioning activities.
• Provide assurance of compliance with project HSE and control system standards.

Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering/Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.

The job location will be based on Saudi Arabia - Alkhobar.
