Hitachi ABB Power Grids in Saudi Arabia seeks Senior I&C Engineer to lead installation, commissioning and fault elimination for GIS HV systems worldwide. You will represent PG with clients at installation sites, adhere to deadlines, and uphold safety and QA standards.
The role requires a bachelor in electrical eng, 2-5 years GIS experience, SF6 handling, and fluency in English and Arabic. The company operates globally with a focus on safe, reliable electrification.
The scope of work of Senior I&C Engineer covers all the activities/actions required to enable switching systems to be successfully installed, repaired and any faults eliminated.
You will be responsible for installation of high voltage systems worldwide for PGHV. You will represent PG in general through his presence and technical knowledge and PGHV specifically in dealings with the client at the installation site. The deadlines issued for each project are adhered to, whereby the cost-performance ratio must always be borne in mind in this respect. You will embody the PG QA philosophy, considering the special conditions on the construction sites.
Responsible for the installation & commissioning work entrusted to him being carried out in perfect technical order Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with the installation requirements and Instructions & ensures that the necessary accident prevention measures are observed; specifically, he abides by the guidelines for work on live system components.
Shall be responsible to red-mark drawings/documents with any changes or modification that became necessary during the installation. Identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
Advice the sub-suppliers installation superintendent in planning and coordination of the work force necessary to comply with the schedule.
Cooperation with PG Project Manager on establishing status of completed and non-completed work.
Inspection of arriving material for completeness and possible damage and coordination of material handling in cooperation with sub-suppliers Material Control within sub-suppliers procedures.
Issue of non-conformance reports for damage or missing equipment within PG scope of supply in cooperation with PG Project Manager.
Supervise final installation & commissioning tests and PG installation completion documentation.
Supervise and coordinate the loop check activities & Participation at site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
2-5 Years of experience in GIS is preferred.
Previous experience with SF6 GAS-Handling.
GIS & HV Products knowledge is preferred.
Proficiency in both spoken & written in English & Arabic language is required.
