Job summary

Duncan & Ross Consulting seeks an experienced Hull Structure Designer (Construction Support) to lead hull structure activities for marine and shipbuilding projects. You will provide technical and design support to shipyard production teams, update 2D/3D drawings, and ensure constructability and compliance with standards.

The role requires 5–10 years in hull design, CS discipline experience, and strong coordination with Naval Architecture, Piping, Electrical, and other disciplines to avoid

Qualifications

• Dipl diploma or Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Marine Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of hull structure design experience in marine/shipbuilding/offshore projects.
• Hands-on experience in CS, shipyard production support, and drawing modifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction and production support for hull structure activities.
• Review and update hull structure drawings, shell plating, decking and framing details.
• Review shop drawings and production information for discrepancies and issues.
• Support shipyard production during hull fabrication, assembly, and erection.
• Resolve technical queries and fabrication-related design problems.
• Coordinate with Naval Architecture, Machinery Outfitting, Piping, HVAC, Electrical and others to avoid clashes.
• Review drawings and documentation to ensure compliance with vessel design requirements and production methods.
• Maintain updated structural drawings and technical records per procedures.
