The Senior Engineer Mining plans and coordinates the availability and use of people supplies and equipment to support efficient mine operations in line with statutory safety and environmental conditions.
Test the validity of minable resources through preliminary surveys with geologists and determine the feasibility of ore extraction Determine suitable ore extraction methods considering overburden depth altitude deposit characteristics and surrounding strata Plan and coordinate the use of labor supplies and equipment in line with efficiency statutory safety and environmental conditions
Consult with geologists metallurgists and engineers on mining machines facilities systems infrastructure and environmental protection or restoration Prepare operating and project estimates assess capital and operating viability control expenditure during production and participate in negotiations for mine purchases or investments Analyze environmental sensitivities related to processes waste chemicals environmental and cultural factors and geopolitical considerations
Analyze and compile monthly and yearly statistical production reports for management review and information Monitor adherence to Maaden Health Safety and Environment programs policies and procedures and provide guidance to address unsafe or damaging work practices Investigate incidents in the assigned work area provide recommendations or responses and brief contractors on applicable HSE regulations
