Job Description

P OSITION O VERVIEW

Kafou Energy Company is seeking an Senior Energy Engineer to play a key role in the growth of its Energy Management Services. The primary goal of the position is to work closely with the energy auditing team to conduct the required site surveys and studies in accordance with ASHRAE standards. The candidate shall have the required knowledge and skills in the implementation of energy management solutions for commercial and industrial facilities (i.e., proposal phase, Detailed studies, and execution of energy-saving performance contracts). The successful candidate will be required to be aware of M&V activities and to develop energy improvements solutions according to a solid-science and engineering approach. The candidate shall ability to prepare a technical report on the technical issues and progress to the direct supervisor. The candidate should have knowledge of the operation of HVAC equipment (DX Units, All kinds of Chillers, Cooling Towers, Chilled water Applications Like AHU’s, FCU’s, and Boilers) water pumps, motors, lighting, and BMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a preliminary energy study in accordance with ASHRAE standard.
• Capability to perform data collection, processing, and analysis for preliminary energy studies for commercial and industrial facilities.
• Develop and implement M&V plans for energy savings performance contracting (ESPC) projects at various facilities.
• Provide technical assistance with ongoing review of data from energy management systems, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and energy savings analysis in co‑ordination with the Energy Management Team.
• Perform savings and performance analysis according to a solid-science and engineering bases , reporting and/or presentations for customers.
• Inspect or evaluate building envelopes, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or process systems to determine the energy consumption of each system.
• Data entry and documentation of the obtained raw data and observations.
• Capability to request and obtain technical and commercial offers from the relating suppliers/ vendors/ and contractors for delivering, installing, and commissioning energy operating equipment and systems.
• Support in overseeing the installation of ECMs.
• Inspect and measure the implemented energy management solutions to ensure proper installation and commissioning.
• Support efforts of Maintenance to troubleshoot problems.
• Support in Measurement & Verification plans as per the international guidelines (IPMVP).
• Excellent self‑leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.

Requirements

• BSc degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline.
• 5-7 years’ experience in Energy and sustainability fields.
• Good English writing skills (proposal making, correspondence) to make comprehensive offers also verbal communication skills.
• Good Technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Good Knowledge of MS Office (Project, Word & PPT, Excel), AutoCAD, HAP & Simulations Software is required to carry out the job.
• Good Knowledge of Building management systems.
• Having Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified measurement and verification Professional (CMVP) are a must.
