Job summary

SmartChoice International GCC is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build and operate scalable cloud infrastructure for a rapidly growing platform. You will own CI/CD pipelines, container platforms, security, observability and production reliability across environments.

The role demands hands-on AWS, Terraform/OpenTofu, Ansible, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS desirable), and a strong focus on security, automation and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Hands-on AWS experience including compute, networking, IAM and storage.
• IaC expertise with Terraform or OpenTofu and reusable modules.
• Experience with Ansible or similar configuration management.
• Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent.
• Deep expertise in Docker, Kubernetes and Helm; EKS desirable.
• Proficient with GitOps tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
• Experience with API gateways, auth, routing and rate limiting.
• Production databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis; managed services like RDS/Aurora.
• Secrets management with Vault/AWS Secrets Manager; OpenTelemetry observability.
• Strong monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch; Linux, Bash, Python.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable infrastructure using infrastructure as code.
• Own CI/CD pipelines covering build, tests, security and production deployment.
• Manage containerised workloads across Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• Build safe deployment strategies with rollout, rollback and recovery.
• Manage cloud networking, API gateways, load balancing, DNS and certificates.
• Implement identity and secrets management with least-privilege access.
• Operate production databases with high availability, replication and recovery.
• Establish monitoring and operational metrics across infra and apps.
• Lead incident response and continuous improvement of reliability and security.
• Optimize infrastructure utilization and costs for high compute workloads.
• Help create reusable platform capabilities for teams to deploy services independently.
