Job summary

Alfanar Projects is seeking a Senior Cost Control Engineer to manage and forecast costs across multiple construction projects in Riyadh. You will set up project budgets, monitor actuals and commitments, and deliver timely forecasts to enable proactive decision-making.

The role requires a civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering background, 5–7 years of cost control experience in large construction or EPC environments, and hands-on use of SAP PS/CO, Excel, Primavera, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of cost control experience in large construction or EPC.
• Hands-on experience setting up budgets, tracking costs and preparing forecasts.
• Good understanding of EAC, cash flow forecasting, % complete, and cost performance.
• Experience with SAP PS/CO or similar project cost management system.

Responsibilities

• Set up cost breakdown structures and budgets in SAP or similar system.
• Review scope to prepare estimates to complete.
• Track actual costs, commitments, and budget changes.
• Compare budgeted vs actual and forecast costs.
• Prepare and update cost forecasts, cash flows, and reports.
• Analyze percentage of completion and financial performance with teams.
• Review proposed budget revisions.
• Collaborate with project execution, planning, resources, and supply chain teams.
• Highlight cost risks early.
• Support cost-saving initiatives.
• Prepare clear reports and dashboards.

The role involves setting up project budgets, tracking actual costs and commitments, identifying potential overruns, and giving project teams reliable forecasts so they can take action early.

Key responsibilities

• setting up project cost breakdown structures and budgets in SAP or a similar project cost system
• reviewing project scope to prepare detailed estimates to complete
• tracking actual costs, commitments, and budget changes
• comparing budgeted costs with actual and forecast costs
• preparing and regularly updating cost forecasts, project cash flows, and cost reports
• analysing percentage of completion, project progress, and financial performance with project and finance teams
• reviewing proposed budget revisions
• working with project execution, planning, resources, and supply chain teams
• highlighting cost risks early
• supporting cost-saving initiatives
• and preparing clear reports and dashboards.

Requirements

• a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• 5 to 7 years of cost control experience in a large construction or EPC company
• hands-on experience setting up project budgets, tracking costs, and preparing forecasts
• good understanding of estimates to complete, cash flow forecasting, percentage of completion, and project cost performance
• working experience with SAP PS/CO or a similar project cost management system
• strong Excel skills, with Primavera and Power BI as an advantage

Preferred qualifications

• CCP or PMP certification
• Earned Value Management experience
