Job summary

Elm Company is seeking an experienced Senior UI/UX Designer Engineer to translate business objectives into scalable, user-centered digital experiences across Business Products. You will support user research, UX design, UI development, and design system adoption while ensuring accessibility and consistency across platforms.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Engineering and Product teams to deliver high-quality dashboards, portals, and operational tools, leveraging Figma and related tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience designing B2B/government digital products, with complex, data-rich, multi-role platforms.
• Hands-on experience in user research, usability testing, UX evaluation.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design, IA, responsive design, accessibility, and WCAG principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop information architecture, wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs for complex dashboards and portals.
• Design and maintain data-rich interfaces ensuring accessibility and responsive behavior.
• Collaborate with Engineering to ensure design intent is accurately translated into the product.
• Lead design critiques and mentor junior designers.
• Stay current with AI-powered design tools to improve workflows and outcomes.

• User Experience Analysis & Journey Design
• Map end-to-end user journeys and task flows across complex, multi-step, and multi-role experiences
• Identify pain points, gaps, and opportunities and propose improvements supported by research and data.
• Contribute to cross-product journey and service mapping.
• Facilitate workshops with relevant stakeholders to align on user needs and experience solutions.
• Design System Ownership
• Contribute to and extend shared design systems through reusable components, patterns, and interaction guidelines.
• Ensure consistency across products while considering accessibility and usability standards.
• Work closely with Engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation and alignment between design and development libraries.

• Develop information architecture, wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
• Design complex, data-rich digital experiences including dashboards, portals, operational tools, control centers, booking and fulfillment platforms.
• Ensure production-ready designs address responsive behavior, accessibility, edge cases, and different interaction states.
• Use Figma and other professional UI/UX and visual design tools to deliver high-quality experiences.
• Provide design critique and support the development of junior designers.
• Design-to-Development & Innovation
• Work closely with Engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle to ensure design intent is translated accurately into the final product.
• Understand design-to-development workflows and communicate effectively with technical teams.
• Stay up to date with emerging AI-powered design tools and apply relevant technologies to improve design workflows and outcomes.
• Explore innovative approaches to improve user experience, design efficiency, and product quality.
