Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to oversee environmental requirements across building construction activities. You will ensure compliance with laws, permits, and international standards while guiding sustainability initiatives on high-rise and large-scale projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and extensive experience with Tier 1/Main Contractors, strong coordination skills, and expertise in waste management and environmental reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 15 years of relevant experience, preferably with a major building construction contractor.
• Strong experience in high-rise buildings, hospitality, commercial, residential, or large-scale building projects.
• Experience working with Tier 1/Main Contractors is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, construction environmental controls, and international standards.
• Experience with environmental audits, inspections, reporting, and compliance management.
• Good knowledge of waste management, pollution prevention, environmental monitoring, and sustainability practices.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and environmental reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the project Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
• Ensure construction activities comply with environmental laws, regulations, permits, and project requirements.
• Monitor environmental performance related to waste management, air quality, noise, water, soil, and pollution control.
• Conduct regular environmental inspections, audits, and site assessments.
• Identify environmental risks and implement appropriate mitigation and corrective actions.
• Manage construction waste, hazardous materials, recycling, and disposal activities.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, authorities, and subcontractors on environmental matters.
• Prepare environmental reports, records, KPIs, and compliance documentation.
• Investigate environmental incidents and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Conduct environmental awareness training and toolbox talks for site personnel.
• Review subcontractors environmental plans and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Support project teams in achieving sustainability and environmental objectives.
• Ensure proper environmental documentation is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
