Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to oversee water transmission pipeline works, ensure compliance with specifications, monitor contractor performance, and coordinate with stakeholders in Riyadh.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years' experience, including at least 5 years on water infrastructure projects, and demonstrates strong QA/QC, reporting, and coordination skills. GCC/Middle East experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years on water transmission pipelines or water infrastructure projects
• Experience in construction supervision and consultancy roles
• Strong knowledge of pipeline construction, earthworks, reinforced concrete structures, and utility coordination
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and construction methodologies

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction activities related to water transmission pipelines and associated civil infrastructure.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards.
• Review and provide comments on shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical proposals.
• Monitor contractor progress, quality, and compliance with HSE requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and witness testing and commissioning activities.
• Identify and resolve technical issues encountered during construction.
• Coordinate with the Client, Contractor, authorities, and other project stakeholders.
• Review contractor progress reports, inspection records, and technical documentation.
• Assist in evaluating variations, claims, and contractual matters.
• Prepare periodic progress, quality, and technical reports for project management.

Senior Civil Engineer will act as the Consultant's representative and be responsible for overseeing the construction and delivery of water transmission pipeline works. The role involves monitoring contractor performance, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting the successful execution of the project within schedule and budget requirements.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with international standards and industry best practices related to water infrastructure projects.
• Experience in reviewing technical submittals, QA/QC procedures, and construction methodologies.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• GCC/Middle East experience is preferred.
