Job summary

Astek Middle East is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil and structural engineering efforts across Saudi Arabia, including building, infrastructure, retrofit, and facility upgrade projects. You will work with project managers, architects, consultants, and contractors to deliver compliant solutions.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, SCE registration, and strong coordination skills in English. GCC experience is preferred, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering.
• Professional experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred.
• SCE registration and membership is required.
• Iqama should reflect engineering profession where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil and structural engineering expertise across building, infrastructure, retrofit, and facility upgrade projects.
• Review civil and structural designs, drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Conduct site assessments and inspections to evaluate existing conditions and identify requirements for civil and structural works.
• Coordinate with architects, electrical and mechanical engineers, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Monitor construction and civil works to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with approved designs and schedules.
• Identify technical issues and provide practical engineering recommendations and solutions.
• Prepare and review technical reports, quantity estimates, material take-offs, and project documentation.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and execution activities related to the civil engineering scope.
• Monitor progress and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to support timely project delivery.
• Ensure civil and structural works comply with applicable Saudi regulations, codes, standards, and project requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support the planning, execution, and oversight of civil engineering, building, infrastructure, and sustainability projects across Saudi Arabia. The role will provide technical expertise across civil and structural works, building upgrades, retrofit activities, and related projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, architects, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure civil works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, and applicable regulations.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering.
• Professional experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in project coordination, project execution, and/or project management.
• Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration and membership.
• Engineering profession reflected on the candidate's Iqama, where applicable.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Strong technical judgment, analytical, communication, and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit Structure, or Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro is an advantage.
• Familiarity with quantity surveying, cost estimation, and material take-offs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Strong understanding of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and relevant ACI and ASCE standards.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience with green building practices or LEED-related projects.
• Experience in energy services, facility management, building renovation, retrofit, or infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
