Job summary

Dar is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspector to oversee inspection and monitoring of all bridge and structural works on site, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs and standards. The role emphasizes quality assurance, safety and proper execution under supervision.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have at least seven years of bridge inspection experience, including major roads and highway projects, with strong reporting and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum of 7 years of bridge and structural inspection experience.
• Experience in roads, bridges and highways projects within PMC or construction supervision.
• Good knowledge of structural drawings and construction methods.
• Familiarity with international standards and codes (AASHTO, BS, ACI, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect bridge and structural works including piling, substructure, and superstructure activities.
• Monitor reinforcement works, formwork, concrete casting, and curing processes.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Conduct routine site inspections and report any non-conformance issues.
• Verify materials delivered to site and ensure they meet approved standards.
• Witness tests related to concrete, materials, and structural elements.
• Ensure proper implementation of traffic safety and work zone safety where applicable.
• Coordinate with the contractor and site engineers to resolve minor site issues.
• Maintain records of inspections, site activities, and quality reports.
• Report progress, issues, and observations to the supervising engineer.
