Job summary

VaporVM is seeking an experienced On-Site Security Engineer to protect enterprise API infrastructure and monitor threats. You will design and manage API gateway security with F5, Kong and IBM DataPower, while configuring IDS/IPS and integrating with SIEM platforms for real-time monitoring.

You will lead incident response, threat analysis, and policy development, collaborating with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure secure architectures. 5+ years in cybersecurity is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity and network security.
• Experience with API gateway security using platforms such as F5, Kong and IBM DataPower.
• Experience with IDS/IPS technologies.
• SIEM experience with Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight.
• Security integration and log management experience.
• Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and secure architectures.
• Hands-on incident response and threat analysis.
• Certifications such as CISSP or GICSP are mandatory.
• Experience in enterprise or government environments.
• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS/Azure) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage API Gateway security solutions using platforms such as F5, Kong, and IBM DataPower.
• Configure and maintain IDS/IPS systems to detect and prevent threats.
• Integrate security tools with SIEM platforms for real-time monitoring and incident response.
• Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and perform root cause analysis.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams to ensure secure design.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and risk analysis across API and network layers.
• Ensure compliance with security frameworks and maintain audit artifacts.
