Job summary

EMDAD BY ELM in Riyadh seeks an experienced IBM DataPower Developer to design, configure, and maintain secure integration objects on DataPower Gateway appliances. You will enable seamless communication across microservices and legacy systems while enforcing security and performance standards.

• 3+ years of hands-on IBM DataPower development and administration.
• Deep understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, IBM MQ, SFTP and TCP/IP.
• Hands-on experience configuring SSL/TLS, PKI, SAML, OAuth, JWT, and WS-Security.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced IBM DataPower Developer to join our Integration & API Platform team. In this role, you will design, develop, configure, and maintain secure integration solution objects on IBM DataPower Gateway appliances. You will play a key role in protecting enterprise services, optimizing message routing, enforcing security protocols, and enabling seamless communication across microservices and legacy backend applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Gateway Development & Configuration: Design, construct, test, and deploy Multi-Protocol Gateways (MPGW), Web Service Proxies (WSP), XML Firewall objects, and API Gateways on IBM DataPower appliances.
• Security Implementation: Implement robust enterprise security policies using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML 2.0, Mutual TLS (mTLS), JWT validation, and WS-Security.
• API Integration: Integrate DataPower Gateways with API Management platforms (e.g., IBM API Connect) and enterprise service buses (ESB/IBM MQ).
• Certificate & TLS Management: Manage Crypto profiles, SSL/TLS client/server profiles, public key infrastructure (PKI), and automated certificate renewal procedures.
• Performance & Troubleshooting: Monitor appliance CPU, memory, and throughput. Diagnose performance bottlenecks, system errors, and security failures using system logs, trace tools, and DataPower Probe.
• CI/CD & Governance: Automate appliance build, versioning, and deployment processes using Git, Jenkins, and Nexus repository managers (alongside DPConfig/DCM frameworks).
• Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain architectural blueprints, interface control documents (ICDs), and configuration guides adhering to enterprise standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Technical Expertise

• IBM DataPower Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and administering IBM DataPower Gateways.
• Protocols & Standards: Deep understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, IBM MQ, SFTP, and TCP/IP networks.
• Security Standards: Hands-on experience configuring SSL/TLS, AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Auditing), PKI, SAML, OAuth, JWT, and Digital Certificates.
• Automation & DevOps: Familiarity with deployment automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Terraform) for environment promotion (DEV/TEST/PROD).

General Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong analytical, debugging, and system integration troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with security teams, enterprise architects, and backend software engineering teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Application & Database Experience: Hands-on experience with Java 8+, writing SQL queries, and integrating with IBM DB2 databases.
• IBM DataPower / IBM API Connect professional certification.
• Working knowledge of IBM MQ administration or API Gateway solutions (e.g., Kong, Apigee).
