Job summary

Hill International is seeking a Senior Special Airport Systems (SAS) Engineer to lead engineering and design reviews of BHS, PBB, FIDS, PA, CCTV, and AODB for major international airport projects.

You will coordinate with architects, MEP and IT teams, ensure compliance with ICAO/IATA standards, and guide interface management, risk mitigation, and value engineering to deliver safe, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems Engineering or related discipline (Master's preferred).
• 15+ years of experience in engineering and design of airport systems, preferably on large international airport projects.
• Strong knowledge of Special Airport Systems (BHS, PBB, FIDS, AODB), security systems and communications networks.
• Familiarity with international aviation standards and guidelines (ICAO, IATA).
• Proven experience in multidisciplinary design coordination and system integration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and interface management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in complex projects.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design review and coordination of Special Airport Systems including BHS, PBB, FIDS, PA, CCTV, Access Control, and AODB.
• Ensure all system designs comply with project specifications, aviation authority regulations, and international standards.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, MEP, and IT teams for seamless integration of airport systems.
• Review and approve design submissions, shop drawings, technical specifications, and interface documents.
• Provide technical expertise in system architecture, integration, and interface management across multiple airport systems.
• Identify design risks, system conflicts, and operational challenges; propose mitigation solutions.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize system performance, cost, and maintainability.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings with airport operators, airlines and regulators.
• Ensure designs meet operational efficiency, passenger experience and safety requirements.
• Prepare and review technical reports and design documentation for timely approvals.
• Adhere to Hill International’s Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Project Director or line manager.
