Job Title: Safety Officer

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Role Purpose:

To ensure the effective implementation of safety procedures, practices, and standards across Construction, infrastructure and landscaping projects. The Safety Officer will oversee safety compliance, conduct risk assessments, and ensure a safe working environment on large-scale and giga projects such as golf courses, resorts, green zones, and public realm developments.

Key Responsibilities:
1. HSE Compliance & Monitoring
  • Enforce the implementation of local and international health & safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
  • Monitor day-to-day activities on-site to ensure safe working practices across all project stages.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update project-specific HSE plans, procedures, and emergency response plans.
2. Risk Assessment & Mitigation
  • Identify potential hazards related to landscaping, infrastructure development, earthworks, and golf course construction.
  • Conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all critical tasks.
  • Implement control measures to reduce risks and improve safety culture on-site.
3. Training & Awareness
  • Conduct HSE induction and refresher training for workers, subcontractors, and site teams.
  • Organize toolbox talks, safety drills, and awareness campaigns.
  • Promote best safety practices across multi-disciplinary project teams.
4. Inspection, Audits & Reporting
  • Perform regular site inspections, audits, and safety walkthroughs.
  • Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports for management and client review.
5. Stakeholder Coordination
  • Liaise with consultants, client HSE representatives, and authorities to ensure full compliance.
  • Support project teams in meeting HSE KPIs set by giga projects such as Qiddiya, Red Sea, and King Salman Park.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Education:
    Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering.

Certifications:

  • NEBOSH IGC
  • OSHA 30 Hours / ISO 45001
  • First Aid & Fire Safety Training

Experience:

  • Minimum 4–8 years of experience in safety roles within, Construction, Infrastructure and Landscaping projects.
  • Proven exposure to mega/giga projects such as Roshn, Red Sea, Qiddiya, Green Riyadh, King Salman Park, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with golf course development, resort landscaping, and urban infrastructure safety practices.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of risk management and environmental control procedures.
  • Proficient in report writing, site documentation, and HSE compliance tracking.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and method statements from a safety perspective.
