Job summary

MAPEI S.p.A. seeks an experienced EHS Manager to lead safety, environment, fire and security programs in our Saudi Arabia operations. You will implement policies, oversee risk assessments and ensure compliance with ISO 9000 and OHSAS 18000 standards.

Responsibilities include developing emergency plans, coordinating security, conducting incident investigations and promoting a safe, compliant workplace across all sites. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on safety expertise.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing and managing EHS policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of ISO 9000 and OHSAS 18000 standards.
• Strong supervisory and safety program management skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures implementation of company’s safety, environment, fire & security policies and procedures.
• Manages safety processes, distributes procedures and promotes safety campaigns.
• Oversees hazard identification/management, incident analysis and testing per Bitumat standards.
• Oversees the adoption of safety technology, maintains safety data and equipment records.
• Manages plant and building security patrols and access control at gates and plant areas.
• Investigates thefts, break-ins, damage, arson or sabotage and reports findings.
• Liaises with local security forces for assistance and information.
• Develops emergency and disaster response plans for emergencies.
• Investigates accidents and incidents and recommends corrective actions.

Strategy

• Participates in the development and implementation of department policies, processes and procedures to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled
• implement the Safety and Health department strategy to ensure the alignment with Bitumat’s strategy

Policies, Processes and Procedures

Contributes to Bitumat policies and develops Site policies covering all areas to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled

Supervision

Supervises the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in compliance with the set policies, processes and procedures

Job Specific Accountabilities

• Ensures implementation of company’s policies, procedures, work ethics, applicable standards like ISO 9000, OHSAS 18000, safety policies and procedures in all aspects of the Safety, Environment ,Fire & Security function
• Manages the maintenance and distribution of agreed safety processes and procedures to ensure that all employees are made aware of safety campaign
• Oversees all activities related to Hazardous Materials Identification/Management, Safety & Loss Inspection, Accident Analysis and testing in order to ensure a strict abidance to Bitumat Safety, Security and Health standards.
• Oversees the adoption of recommendations regarding safety technology, equipment and maintains and updates consolidated statistical data of all safety and fire related equipment/systems in Bitumat as to ensure that all desired strategy is attained
• Manages the preparation and supervision of plant and building security patrol to maintain security visibility
• Organises the activities of the entrance gate and plant area to ensure the proper control of personnel and vehicle movements.
• Ensures effective investigation and reporting of thefts, break-ins, suspected frauds, damage, arson or sabotage which affect the Company.
• Liaises with local security forces and maintain a level of contact, which ensures that the Company receives the highest level of assistance and information.
• Develops Company emergency and disaster control plans to ensure that a program is available during such emergencies
• Carries out investigations into all accidents, significant incidents and fires and determine the causes.Recommend action to prevent recurrence.
• Carries out investigation of all significant damage to Company property, determine the cause and recommend action to prevent recurrence.
• Ensures that regular and effective inspection tours are made by Safety personnel daily and that corrective action is taken where necessary to fire and safety installations or procedures.
• Ensures that all safety and firefighting equipment is regularly inspected and maintained and that the volunteer fire brigade is properly manned and trained.
• Advises the Company on the use, care and control of safety equipment and personal protective equipment to minimise costs and maximise safe working

Reporting on the performance of the EHS management system to top management

People Development

Conducts coaching and mentoring to subordinates to ensure continuous learning process and skills development

Reports

Generates timely and accurate statements and reports of Safety, and Health Department to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.
