Responsibilities

  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
  • Report or review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct or coordinate employee training in safety policies, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
  • Interview employees to obtain information about unsafe conditions and incidents.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and incidents/accidents.
  • Recommend safety features to reduce exposure to hazards.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to organizations on health-related problems and changes.
  • Confer with medical professionals to assess health risks and develop management strategies.
  • Maintain liaisons with external organizations to facilitate emergency responses.
  • Write and revise safety regulations and codes as necessary.
