Reliability Engineer

KBR is looking for a Reliability Engineer to coordinate and execute responsibilities relating to governing and establishing the Total reliability program framework throughout the remaining asset lifecycle in Refinery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare framework and methodology for criticality assessment and reliability improvement program of refinery assets.
- Lead and perform asset criticality analysis for all refinery assets.
- Collect data for criticality assessment, lead/conduct asset criticality assessment workshops, compile workshop findings into suitable reports and populate the data in the required format for uploading in SAP with supporting documents.
- Champion the implementation of various reliability methodologies for all asset types by establishing reliability programs to sustain operational excellence.
- Lead the team as the focal point of contact for reviews and technical matters related to reliability culture development in projects and operating facilities with guidance to safeguard asset reliability throughout the lifecycle.
- Administer and perform asset lifecycle management procedures such as asset criticality ranking, SAP taxonomy, asset operating limits (IOW), asset maintenance development procedures, and master‑data developments in SAP; BOM in SAP, active SAP‑PMs implementation and effectiveness.
- Initiate and conduct essential studies for facilities and operational asset improvements, provide specialized technical service in relevant engineering disciplines, act as a consultant on complex engineering problems, designs, and/or projects, coordinate with plant‑wide teams.
- Adapt lessons learned from benchmark and safety cases identified from events, and provide recommendations— in consultation with management—to continuously assure methodology is applied to sustain the health of safety‑critical equipment concerning the Total Reliability program, ensuring sufficient mitigation of potential threats from changes in major hazard scenarios.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams assigned to analyse specific integrity and performance analysis, and suggest methods for preventing chronic failures; support review of the Total Reliability program KPIs.
- Report to Project Manager and lead the reliability section to deliver periodic outcomes and weekly/fortnightly reports on project progress.
- Work closely with the project execution team to ensure complete familiarization and commitment with the Reliability Transformation Program, which will be a key factor for the success of this project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or relevant engineering with sound fundamentals and technical skills.
- Site reliability background and strong knowledge in refinery processes.
- Training in root‑cause failure analysis methodology (e.g., Apollo Root Cause Analysis by Reality Charting) and ability to facilitate RCA and ACA processes.
- Knowledge of SIS and RBI is a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in oil, gas, or petrochemical industry; experience in static and rotating equipment, instrumentation, and electrical systems with understanding of failure modes and potential solutions.
- Experience with operations, maintenance, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and hand‑over activities is an advantage.
- Well‑aware of all key performance indicators related to plant reliability; able to support and drive those KPIs.
- Experience in administering asset lifecycle management procedures such as asset criticality ranking, SAP taxonomy, operating limits (IOW), maintenance development procedures, master data, BOM in SAP, and active SAP‑PMs implementation and effectiveness.
