Job summary

HanmiGlobal Co. is seeking a Quality Inspector – Mechanical to enforce quality across HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and mechanical installations. The role conducts daily site inspections, assesses WIRs/MIRs, and coordinates with engineers and contractors, ensuring compliance with drawings, ITPs, and PQP.

The successful candidate will review technical docs, witness tests, and maintain documentation while upholding safety standards on site in Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of mechanical inspection experience, preferably in a PMC environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical utilities.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Solid knowledge of international mechanical codes and standards.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to resolve technical issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections to ensure mechanical works follow approved ITPs and project requirements.
• Identify deficiencies or non-compliances and report to QC Manager for corrective actions.
• Close WIRs and MIRs with proper signatures and complete documentation.
• Review project specifications, drawings, PQP, ITPs, method statements, and QC procedures.
• Witness and document testing of mechanical systems and complete relevant forms.
• Monitor contractor practices related to mechanical quality control and safety.
• Conduct daily meetings with the contractor's QC representative to ensure alignment with procedures.
• Assist construction team in resolving mechanical quality issues and challenges.
• Support QM in preparing and conducting mechanical-related quality audits.
• Prepare daily QC reports and submit to QM by 9:00 AM the following day.
• Verify calibration certificates for all mechanical testing tools and devices.
• Maintain logs of WIRs, MIRs, MARs, NCRs, and other quality docs.
• Highlight and report miscoordination issues between disciplines to RE and QM.

Role Summary

The Quality Inspector – Mechanical is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical works—including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and mechanical equipment installations—are executed in full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, and project quality procedures. The role involves daily site inspections, reviewing material and work inspection requests, and coordinating with engineers and contractors to maintain the highest standards of mechanical quality and safety on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections to ensure mechanical works follow approved ITPs, checklists, and project requirements.
• Proactively identify deficiencies, non-compliance, or faults in mechanical installations and report them immediately to the QC Manager for corrective actions.
• Close all WIRs (Work Inspection Requests) and MIRs (Material Inspection Requests) after obtaining proper signatures and ensuring supporting documentation is complete.
• Thoroughly review project specifications, mechanical drawings, PQP, ITPs, method statements, QC procedures, and related quality documents.
• Witness and document testing of mechanical systems (e.g., pressure tests, leakage tests, functional testing) and complete relevant forms.
• Monitor contractor practices related to mechanical quality control and safety compliance.
• Conduct daily meetings with the contractor's QC representative to ensure alignment with mechanical quality management procedures.
• Assist the construction team in resolving mechanical quality issues and technical challenges.
• Support the Quality Manager (QM) in preparing and conducting mechanical-related quality audits.
• Prepare daily QC reports and submit them to the QC Manager no later than 9:00 AM the following day.
• Verify that all mechanical testing tools and devices have valid calibration certificates.
• Review and maintain logs of WIRs, MIRs, MARs, NCRs, and other mechanical quality documentation.
• Highlight and report any mechanical miscoordination issues between disciplines to the Resident Engineer (RE) and Quality Manager (QM).
