A leading project quality assurance firm located in Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a QC Welding Inspector to ensure compliance with welding standards. The ideal candidate must have a diploma in Mechanical Engineering, a valid CSWIP 3.1 certification, and 3–7 years of relevant experience in oil & gas or heavy fabrication. The QC Welding Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all welding activities comply with approved welding procedures, project specifications, international codes, and client quality requirements. The role involves inspection, verification, documentation, and coordination with fabrication and site teams to maintain high standards of welding quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect welding activities (fit-up, welding, and post-weld) to ensure compliance with approved WPS, PQR, and project specifications
  • Verify welder qualifications and ensure welding is carried out by certified welders
  • Monitor welding consumables, storage conditions, and traceability
  • Inspect joint preparation, pre-heating, inter-pass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT)
  • Coordinate and witness NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT, VT) and review test results
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, API, and ISO
  • Identify non-conformities, raise NCRs, and support corrective and preventive actions
  • Maintain welding inspection records, reports, and quality documentation
  • Coordinate with production, fabrication, and QA/QC teams to resolve welding-related issues
  • Support client, consultant, and third-party inspections when required
  • Ensure adherence to site safety and quality control procedures
Essential Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • CSWIP 3.1 certification (mandatory)
  • Minimum 3–7 years of experience as a QC Welding Inspector in oil & gas, petrochemical, power plant, or heavy fabrication projects
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW
Skills Required
  • Excellent understanding of welding codes and standards (ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104)
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols
  • Hands-on experience with NDT coordination and interpretation
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Good communication and coordination abilities
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Ability to work independently and under project deadlines
