Role Purpose
The Procurement Officer at Al Bawani Construction Company is responsible for supporting the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services needed for construction projects. This entry-level position focuses on supplier sourcing, purchase order management, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
Key Activities
Assist in identifying potential suppliers and evaluating their capabilities.
- Maintain updated supplier lists and contact information.
- Participate in supplier assessments to ensure quality and compliance with company standards.
- Gather and analyze supplier performance data.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders based on project requirements and specifications.
- Monitor order status and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Assist in managing inventory levels and restocking materials as needed.
- Coordinate with internal teams to clarify procurement needs.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders and supplier communications.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures during procurement processes.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
- Update procurement manuals and operational checklists as needed.
- Support cost tracking efforts and assist in analyzing procurement expenditures.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities and supplier performance as requested.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Assist in preparing budget forecasts for procurement.
- Work closely with project teams to understand procurement needs and timelines.
- Assist in coordinating communication between internal teams and suppliers.
- Participate in meetings to provide updates on procurement status and address any concerns.
- Support training initiatives for new procurement staff.
Necessary Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the construction industry.
- Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with construction materials and equipment is a plus.
- Previous experience in a procurement or administrative role is advantageous but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Education and Certification Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.
- Entry-level certifications in procurement or supply chain management are beneficial.
