DAR Engineering seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead a major high-rise building project in Makkah. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• PM or engineering certifications will be considered an advantage.
• Minimum 20 years of relevant professional experience with senior leadership in PM/Resident Engineer roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall planning, management, and delivery of the high-rise project from inception to handover.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership through design and construction phases.

• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, specifications, drawings, and standards.

Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee the successful delivery of a major high-rise building project in Makkah. The role requires a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in contract management, design coordination, construction supervision, project execution, and project controls.
The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered in accordance with the approved scope, contractual requirements, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables

• Lead the overall planning, management, and delivery of the project from inception through completion and handover.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership throughout the design and construction phases.
• Oversee and coordinate design development, construction supervision, and site execution activities.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable standards.
• Manage and administer contracts in accordance with FIDIC principles and other relevant construction contract requirements.
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules, budgets, and key milestones.
• Establish and maintain effective project management procedures, controls, reporting, and governance mechanisms.
• Identify project risks, delays, and potential issues and implement appropriate mitigation and corrective actions.
• Lead coordination among the client, consultants, contractors, designers, and other key stakeholders.
• Review and provide direction on project programmes, resource requirements, progress reports, and recovery plans.
• Oversee construction supervision activities to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with project requirements.
• Manage contractual matters, including variations, claims, extensions of time, and other project-related issues.
• Provide regular project updates and executive-level reporting to senior management and the client.
• Ensure successful project completion, testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
• Professional project management or engineering certifications will be considered an advantage.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 20 years of relevant professional experience.
• Extensive experience in contract management, design management and coordination, construction supervision, project execution and delivery, and high-rise building projects.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior leadership capacity as a Project Manager and/or Resident Engineer.
• Demonstrable experience managing projects of similar scale, complexity, and technical requirements.
• Previous experience in major building or high-rise developments is essential.

Languages

• Proficiency in Arabic is essential.
• Good command of English.

Technical Competencies

• Strong working knowledge of FIDIC and construction contracts.
• Excellent understanding of project management methodologies, procedures, and delivery frameworks.
• Strong experience in project planning and scheduling, project controls, cost and budget monitoring, risk management, change and variation management, claims and contractual administration, construction supervision, and quality and performance management.
• Strong ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary project teams and stakeholders.
• Sound commercial awareness and strong contractual judgement.
• Ability to analyze complex project issues and drive practical, timely resolutions.
