Job summary

GE Vernova in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Project Engineer – Substation Projects to participate in the execution of complex 132kV and 380kV substations, ensuring delivery in line with contractual commitments, technical specifications, and EHS standards.

You will drive project integration, scope and schedule, manage procurement coordination, and coordinate with customers, suppliers, and partners to achieve project success and long-term customer confidence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electrical Power Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in project management.
• Experience with major Saudi customers (SEC, Royal Commission, ARAMCO).
• Technical understanding of electrical substation systems.
• Proficiency in English and Arabic communication.
• Willingness to travel globally for short/medium-term assignments.
• SCE registration and PMP certification required.

Job Description Summary

The Project Engineer –Substation Projects is responsible to participate in execution of complex 132kV and 380kV substation projects, ensuring delivery in accordance with contractual commitments, technical specifications, quality standards, and EHS requirements. This role has accountability for project integration, scope, planning, stakeholder management, procurement coordination, risk mitigation, and customer satisfaction across all phases of the project lifecycle.

The role requires a average experienced substation component with a good background in electrical power engineering. This position demands average commercial awareness, technical depth, and the ability to manage interfaces across internal functions, subcontractors, suppliers, consortium partners, and customer organizations. The Project Engineer is expected to drive project deliverables, maintain strong governance, interact with multicultural teams, and proactively address project risks and opportunities to achieve successful execution and long-term customer confidence.

• Contract, Claims, and Commercial Management: contribute contractual and commercial matters to support project success and protect business interests.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation and control or/and Electrical Power Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in project management.
• Demonstrated experience with major customers in Saudi Arabia, including SEC, Royal Commission, or/and ARAMCO.
• Experience delivering projects in customer-facing and internally facing environments.
• Technical understanding of electrical substation systems and project lifecycle requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Willingness to travel globally and work in different project locations for short- or medium-term assignments.
• Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
• PMP certification is required.

Desired Characteristics
