Job summary

Napco seeks a production/maintenance engineer to organize and plan work and project activities, using SOPs and lean principles to minimize downtime and cost while maintaining asset efficiency across lines.

You will apply JIT, Six Sigma, Ishikawa, 5S, SMED, and PDCA techniques to improve processes, upgrade design solutions, and ensure timely, cost-efficient output of Napco’s products. Knowledge of industrial production technologies and machinery is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and plan work/project activities to efficiently accomplish tasks and meet short & long term objectives.
  • Understand and effectively use standard equipment and office automation systems and software.
  • Knowledge in emerging technologies in industrial production.
  • Develop new products as well as create, execute, and upgrade design solutions to improve the aesthetics, ergonomics, usability, marketability, and production of Napco’s products.
  • Observe the state of the asset and determine its status based on indicators, and real-time condition data to prioritize and optimize Napco’s maintenance resources in order to minimize cost and asset downtime while maintaining asset efficiency.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing Principles: Just In Time (JIT), Six Sigma, Ishikawa, 5S, SMED, PDCA and other related tools
  • Operate all steps and activities for a required production machine according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) or other instructions if applicable.
  • Knowledge in the variety of machinery, spare parts, tools, and other items used in Napco’s maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge in the use of Napco’s machines, tools and labor to manufacture Napcos products, and in the general process of transforming raw materials into finished goods.
  • Develop, implement and enhance the processes, tools, and training that enable Napco to respond quickly to customer needs and market changes while still controlling output, quality and cost.
  • Generate the required output with the least required resources.
  • Effectively schedule production activities in order to minimize production time and cost and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Inspect and test tools, spare parts, raw materials, work in progress and finished products, using simple to complex lab equipment, against performance and standard limits and according to engineering/procedural standards in order to uncover and address deviations.
