Job summary

Eram Talent in Saudi Arabia is seeking a seasoned Process Engineer to enhance plant performance across gas processing and related operations. You will translate complex analyses into practical improvements while safeguarding safety and reliability.

You will design tests, collect data, and present findings to management. Collaboration with operations, maintenance, engineering, commissioning, and safety teams is essential to drive effective changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with 7+ years of process engineering experience.
• Experience with SARU, SRU, AGR, HRU, gasification, gas processing, sulfur and hydrogen recovery.
• Knowledge of process safety management, EHS regulations, P&ID interpretation.
• Proficiency in lab instrumentation and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize plant processes to improve efficiency, quality, productivity, energy use, and waste reduction.
• Design and analyze plant performance tests; evaluate data and provide actionable recommendations.
• Collect and analyze process data to identify trends and deviations; prepare reports for management.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, implement corrective actions with operations and maintenance teams.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to refine SOPs and promote consistency.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, commissioning, and safety teams.
• Train plant personnel on process improvements and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards; participate in risk assessments and safety audits.
• Lead or support improvement projects and coordinate across departments.
• Monitor and maintain process control systems for stability and efficiency.

In this role, you will contribute to optimization, reliability, and safe operations by working closely with multidisciplinary teams and translating technical analysis into practical improvements for the plant.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing plant processes and identify improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, productivity, energy use, and waste reduction.
• Design, execute, and analyze plant performance tests; evaluate performance data; and provide actionable optimization recommendations.
• Collect and analyze process data to identify trends and deviations, and prepare technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and support operations and maintenance teams with complex process-related problems.
• Apply process improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma, refine standard operating procedures, and promote process consistency.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, commissioning, and safety teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Train plant personnel on process improvements and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, and participate in risk assessments, process hazard analyses, and safety audits.
• Lead or support process improvement projects and coordinate timely execution across departments.
• Monitor and maintain process control systems for stability and efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 7+ years of relevant process engineering experience.
• Relevant plant or process experience in SARU (Soot Ash Recovery Unit), SRU (Sulphur Recovery Unit), AGR (Acid Gas Removal Unit), HRU (Hydrogen Recovery Unit), gasification units, gas processing, sulfur recovery, hydrogen recovery, and refining or petrochemical facilities.
• Strong understanding of plant operations, process optimization, and performance testing.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques, including chromatographs, spectrometers, and other analytical instruments.
• Knowledge of process safety management, risk assessment methods, EHS regulations, P&ID interpretation, and process documentation.
• Expertise in troubleshooting and diagnosing operational issues in plant systems and equipment.
• Experience with process control, automation systems, and advanced process control strategies.
• Ability to use Aspen HYSYS and process simulation tools.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English, including the ability to prepare clear technical reports and presentations.
