Job description

The Process Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and monitoring water and wastewater treatment processes to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations. This role supports plant performance, process improvement, and technical problem-solving across treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize water and wastewater treatment processes, including physical, chemical, and biological treatment methods.
• Monitor plant performance and analyze process data to improve efficiency, water quality, and operational reliability.
• Provide technical support for the commissioning, startup, and operation of water and wastewater treatment plants.
• Collaborate with operations, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure integrated and optimized plant performance.
• Conduct process simulations, modeling, and troubleshooting to identify operational improvements.
• Develop and update process documentation, SOPs, and standard operating guidelines.
• Support compliance with water quality regulations, environmental standards, and health & safety requirements.
• Evaluate new technologies, equipment, and treatment methods for plant upgrades or capacity expansion.
• Assist in investigating water quality issues, process deviations, or treatment inefficiencies.
• Provide technical guidance and training to plant operators and technicians.

Skills

• Experience in process engineering within water treatment, wastewater treatment, or utility infrastructure.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes (filtration, disinfection, biological treatment, sludge handling, chemical dosing, etc.).
• Familiarity with process simulation tools, process optimization, and plant automation (SCADA, PLC) is preferred.
• Understanding of regulatory standards, water quality, and environmental compliance.
