Job summary

KAUST is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Scientist in Polymer Rheology and Processing to join our KAUST research group. The role focuses on understanding structure–rheology–processability relationships, with emphasis on interfacial phenomena, multilayer architectures, and preserving delicate micro- and nanostructures during extrusion.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
• Strong expertise in polymer rheology, polymer physics and viscoelasticity.
• Hands‑on experience in polymer processing technologies (extrusion, compounding, or fiber spinning).
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead cutting‑edge research in polymer rheology and processing science.
• Design and execute experiments on bulk and interfacial rheology, nonlinear viscoelasticity, and flow dynamics relevant to extrusion.
• Develop insights into interfacial stability and morphology control.
• Support and optimize advanced polymer processing, publish high‑impact research, and deliver technical reports.
