Job summary

Prince Iman Abdulrahman Al Faisal in Dammam is seeking a Pediatric Hematology Oncology Consultant to lead direct patient care for infants, children and adolescents with cancer or blood disorders. You will perform bone marrow procedures, prescribe chemotherapy, and provide expert consultations to other specialties within the hospital.

Essential qualifications include a basic medical degree, post-qualification certification from recognized boards, and an active medical license plus BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Basic medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Post-qualification certification from ABMS/RCPS-C/GMC-CCST/FRACP or equivalent.
• Current medical license to practice in country of residence.
• Current BLS/ACLS certificate.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide direct patient care in Pediatric Hematology Oncology (wards, clinics, on-call).
• Provide consultations to other specialties within the hospital.
• Perform bone marrow aspirates, biopsies and related procedures.
• Prescribe and administer chemotherapeutic agents.
• Participate in department and hospital meetings and in teaching activities.
• Contribute to department research activities and tumor board discussions.
• Supervise sub-consultant physicians as directed by chair/division head.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures at all times.

Summary

Education / Qualification Required:

1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
2. Post-qualification certification
   • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
     • USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
     • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
     • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
     • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
     • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

• Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
• Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

• Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
• Current BLS/ACLS Certificate

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Independently provide direct patient care in Pediatric Hematology Oncology (ward rounds, clinics and on-calls)
• Independently provides consultations to other specialties in the hospital
• Perform bone marrow aspirates, biopsies and other related procedures
• Prescribe and administer medications (chemotherapeutic agents)
• Participate in the department/division administrative meetings
• Participate in the department/division educational meetings (journal club, tumor board, lectures, etc.)
• Participate in the department/division research activities
• Participates in the hospital/department committees upon request
• To supervise the sub consultant physicians
• Perform and cover other duties as delegated by the chair or division head
• Adhere strictly to all hospital policies and procedures
