Job summary

Water Transmission Company is seeking an experienced Operations professional to oversee shift operation planning, monitor pipeline capacity, and consolidate performance reports to ensure reliable water transmission.

Reporting to the Operations Center Supervisor, the role requires analyzing capacity gaps, coordinating CCR and LCR, and driving continuous improvement while complying with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

  • 6.01 to 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Diploma’s Degree in Technical or relevant fields.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of Operations’ systems and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and standards within WTTCO and related functions.
  • Escalate problems to ensure timely closure.
  • Develop daily shift operation schedules based on demand forecast and system capacity.
  • Analyze capacity gaps and allocate internal teams or appoint external parties for proper operation.
  • Coordinate between CCR and LCR for efficient operation.
  • Consolidate operation, accident, and shutdown reports; propose modifications to improve productivity.
  • Assess water quality and pump/oil systems performance to identify gaps.

Job description

Reporting to Operations Center Supervisor


Job Purpose

The job holder is responsible for conducting and analyzing the operations activities, including shift operation schedule development, pipelines monitoring capacity gap analysis, and operational reports consolidation in order to ensure the proper functioning of the system.


Key Roles and Responsibilities


  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of Operations’ systems, practices, cost optimization, and productivity & efficiency improvement.

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards within WTTCO and related functions such as but not limited to (HC, HSSE, Risk, Cybersecurity, etc..).

  • Escalate problems to ensure case/issue is closed efficiently and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the annual business plans, goals, policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.

  • Ensure conducting daily shift operation schedule based on demand forecast, system capacity, shutdown schedule, the quantity of water supplied, and scheduled interruptions of water sources supplied transmitted for maintenance purposes.

  • Analyze capacity gap analysis and help identify needed skills to effectively allocate internal teams per shift or appoint external parties for the proper functioning of the transmission system.

  • Investigation encroachments, shutdowns, and performance variances and contribute to prompt implementation of mitigation plan developed to initiate required corrective action steps.

  • Coordinate between the Central Control Room (CCR) and Local Control Room (LCR) in order to guarantee efficient operation in compliance with set plans, standards, and requirements.

  • Consolidate operation, accident, and shutdown reports, analyze operations schedule efficiency and performance, and propose modifications to system designs or operational procedures to maximize productivity.

  • Assess water quality, cooling systems, and pump oil systems performance to identify gaps in quality levels and systems efficiency.

  • Compare the current forecast with actual consumption, issue lessons learned, and develop reports that help in the development of next year’s water forecast.

  • Support in planning and designing all works pertaining to rehabilitation and replacement of transmission systems equipment.

  • Solve complex issues escalated from CCR or LCR and try to find adequate solutions in a timely manner without interrupting operation activities.

  • Comply with safety, quality, and environmental procedures to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, and high-quality service.


Knowledge and Experience


  • 6.01 to 9 years of relevant experience.


Education and Certifications


  • Diploma’s Degree in Technical or relevant fields.
