Job summary

Client of Hudson Manpower seeks an experienced Cost Controller for shutdown projects in Saudi Arabia. You will lead costing, budgeting, and cost monitoring for turnaround activities, capture actuals, perform variance analysis, and manage changes and claims within the commercial framework.

The role requires minimum 5 years in cost control, preferably with shutdown/turnaround exposure, and a Mechanical BE/BTech degree. On-site position with emphasis on timely reporting and cost accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost control for projects.
• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with shutdowns/turnarounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• 8 years of costing, budgeting and cost monitoring for shutdown turnaround
• Budgeting and estimation
• Developing detailed shutdown budgets (WBS, CBS) based on scope, labor, materials and equipment
• Cost monitoring and tracking
• Capturing actual costs during shutdown: materials, manpower, subcontractor work
• Variance analysis
• Identify discrepancies between planned and actual costs and recommend corrective actions during short, high-pressure shutdowns
• Change management
• Evaluate cost variations, change orders and subcontractor claims ensuring approvals within the commercial framework
• Reporting
• Prepare cost control reports: daily/weekly costs, cash flow forecasts, final closing reports with lessons learned
• Invoicing and procurement
• Review subcontractor and supplier invoices and payment certificates for accuracy
