The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity. The role involves troubleshooting issues, optimizing network performance, enforcing security policies, and supporting IT projects to enable seamless business operations.
What you'll need
Network Administration & Technical Expertise
- Configure, maintain, and monitor Cisco devices including routers, firewalls, voice gateways, wireless controllers, and Layer 2 switches.
- Administer Meraki and TP-Link Omada networks.
- Manage Cisco licenses, including Security and Smartnet renewals.
- Configure and manage SIP trunks, phone lines, and extensions.
- Support Windows and Linux server setup, failover clustering, patching, and troubleshooting.
Network Security & Infrastructure
- Implement and maintain secure network solutions, including SDWAN, VPN, and NAC.
- Maintain IP address management databases and ensure optimal IP allocation.
- Ensure wireless network performance, security, and reliability.
- Conduct regular network security assessments and vulnerability checks.
- Collaborate with cloud and application teams to secure Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
- Support local network gateways and virtual WAN (VWAN) solutions.
Monitoring, Automation & Optimization
- Utilize monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Zabbix to track network performance and proactively resolve issues.
- Automate network processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
- Conduct technical meetings with vendors and service providers to optimize infrastructure resources.
Troubleshooting & End-User Support
- Provide 3rd-line network and telephony support, diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
- Offer technical guidance and advice to internal stakeholders.
- Be available for 24/7 support for critical network incidents, remotely or on-site if required.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and service records.
- Document root cause analyses, playbooks, and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and international cybersecurity standards.
- Leverage tools like Power BI for reporting and dashboard creation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in network engineering, IT infrastructure, or systems administration.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Meraki, TP-Link, and other enterprise network devices.
- Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN, SDWAN, VPN, and network security principles.
- Experience with Windows and Linux servers, including failover clustering.
- Familiarity with cloud networking, hybrid solutions, and Azure environments.
