Job summary

TRACTEBEL ENGINEERING S.A DUBAI BRANCH is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer specializing in irrigation pumping to join our team in Jeddah. You will support design reviews, supervision, and execution of pumping stations and mechanical infra works, ensuring compliance with standards and schedules.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of hands-on experience in irrigation systems, pumping, and construction supervision, with CAD and hydraulic calculation tools proficiency, and fluent Arabic/English

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven 5–7 years in irrigation systems, pumping stations, mechanical works and construction supervision.
• Strong knowledge of pumping systems, irrigation networks, valves, piping, pressure testing, mechanical equipment and commissioning requirements.
• Proficiency with CAD software, pump selection tools, hydraulic calculation tools, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Review shop drawings, mechanical layouts, submittals, ITPs, equipment datasheets and as-built docs.
• Inspect installation of pumps, valves, piping, supports and irrigation networks.
• Verify mechanical works against drawings, specs, quality, safety and manufacturer recommendations.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, QA/QC, commissioning teams and other disciplines.
• Support pressure testing, pump testing, commissioning, functional checks, snagging and handover.
• Review testing records, inspection checklists, punch lists, O&M docs and close-out submissions.
• Prepare inspection reports, site observations, technical comments and progress updates.
• Support risk identification and corrective actions for installation, testing and commissioning.

• Review shop drawings mechanical layouts material submittals method statements ITPs equipment datasheets and as-built documentation
• Inspect installation of pumps valves piping supports irrigation networks mechanical equipment and associated infrastructure elements
• Verify mechanical works against approved drawings specifications quality requirements safety standards and manufacturer recommendations
• Coordinate with contractors engineers QA QC teams commissioning teams and other disciplines to resolve site issues and interfaces
• Support pressure testing pump testing commissioning functional checks snagging and handover activities
• Review testing records inspection checklists punch lists O M documentation and final close-out submissions
• Prepare inspection reports site observations technical comments and progress updates
• Support risk identification and corrective actions related to installation testing and commissioning activities

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Proven work experience of at least 5 to 7 years in irrigation systems, pumping stations, mechanical works, and construction supervision.

Good knowledge of pumping systems, irrigation networks, valves, piping, pressure testing, mechanical equipment, and commissioning requirements.

Proficiency in using CAD software, pump selection tools, hydraulic calculation tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review submittals, technical documents, and testing records.

Excellent coordination and communication skills with contractors, engineers, QA/QC teams, and project stakeholders.

Construction and supervision of pumping and irrigation works, preferably fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
