Job summary

TÜV SÜD for Safety Engineering LLC is seeking engineers for testing and inspection of amusement rides, from simple designs to complex, for compliance in Saudi Arabia. The role includes strength verification, risk assessments, and on-site acceptance tests at parks and customers' sites.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s in mechanical or civil engineering with at least three years experience, knowledge of dynamics, FEM, fatigue analyses, hydraulics, pneumatics and ISO 12100 risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical or civil engineering.
• At least three years of professional experience.
• Knowledge of dynamics, FEM calculations, fatigue analyses and strength calculations/machine elements.
• Knowledge in the evaluation of risk assessments (ISO 12100).
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Interdisciplinary approach.
• Possible additional qualifications: Welding engineer (IWE), Playground inspector, Functional safety engineer – ISO 13849.

Responsibilities

• Draw up specifications to a high standard.
• Incident and accident investigations.

Job description

Your Tasks

• Testing and examination of all types of amusement rides, from standard designs to pro-totypes and new constructions, including roller coasters, carousels, tower rides and other amusement park or traveling rides for compliance with relevant rules and regulations
• Assessment of strength verifications and risk assessments
• Acceptance tests at the customer's site or tests in amusement parks
• Regular and periodical in-service inspections of all types of rides
• Comprehensive assessments of complex rides and devices, based on broad knowledge of relevant, interdisciplinary contexts
• Competent use of complex measurement methods to evaluate the system characteristics (strain gauge, g-force etc.)
• Tasks with additionally developed evaluation criteria for the assessment and / or concep-tual design of systems and facilities
• based on rules and regulations of different disciplines
• by analogy from not directly applicable rules and regulations
• drawing up specifications according to the state of the art
