Job summary

Guardian Industries in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support operations, drive safety improvements and lead plant transformation through automation upgrades.

You will work with cross-functional teams to execute capital projects, read and create technical drawings, and provide training to maintenance and production staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Knowledge of equipment safety systems and safe working practices.
• Ability to read pneumatic and hydraulic schematic diagrams.
• Experience with industrial equipment and continuous process automation.
• Experience in leading and supporting engineering projects.
• Experience with fluid systems including air, cooling water, and process water.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-floor engineering support to operations and maintenance to optimize equipment performance.
• Drive a safety culture by addressing unsafe conditions and behaviours and proposing improvements.
• Execute capital projects upgrading plant systems and equipment.
• Generate mechanical requirements and cost estimates for upgrades.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
• Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repair of conveyors, automated systems and related equipment.
• Read, modify and create technical drawings and schematics.
• Provide training and technical support to Maintenance and Production.
• Investigate equipment failures and recommend solutions.

What You Will Do

• Provide on-the-floor Engineering support to operations & maintenance to understand equipment performance, troubleshoot issues in a timely manner, and evaluate system capabilities.
• Actively participate in driving a safety culture where employees address unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviours and participate and make suggestions for improvements.
• Execute capital projects including upgrades to plant systems, process equipment, and scalable transformation priorities
• Generate mechanical requirements and estimates for projects and equipment upgrades
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
• Oversee the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment such as conveying systems, automated stacking equipment, batching operations and combustion furnace operations
• Read, modify and create technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated models
• Provide training and technical support to Maintenance and Production Departments
• Investigate equipment failures and make recommendations for solutions to manufacturing processes

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Good knowledge of equipment safety systems and safe working practices.
• Strong ability to read and interpret pneumatic and hydraulic schematic diagrams.
• Good mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting experience with industrial and facility equipment, including conveyors, air compressors, fan alignment, mixers, chiller systems, cooling towers, R/O and DI plants, and generators.
• Experience working in continuous process automation plants.
• Experience in leading and supporting engineering projects.
• Experience with fluid systems, including air, cooling water, and pure water systems.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Experience with AutoCAD, and/or other CAD packages
• Experience with practical mechanical design, fabrication, and manufacturing support
• Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance
• Experience with NFPA code and piping
